Introduction

International Clinic was founded in 1987 to provide advanced and personalized health care for expatriates residing in Korea and travelers to Korea. We continue to strive to give our clients quality health care in an efficient manner with easy access and up to Western standards.
The International Clinic is a private clinic with a diagnostic capacity of a general hospital. The Clinic is staffed by doctors and nurses fluent in English ever ready to serve all of the medical needs of foreigners in an atmosphere of comfort and confidence. The International Clinic has been expanding its services to meet the demands of our client.

International Health Service

The International Health Service(IHS) opened in September 1995, offer in-and out-patient treatment, consultations and referrals across a comprehensive range of specialties. The service is a major component of the Samsung Medical Center's Seoul Hospital, which is one of the country's leading health care institutions with over 800 physicians, 1200 beds and ultramodern, world-class medical technology and facilities. IHS have the primary goal of providing the best quality health care to foreigners residing in or traveling through Korea. IHS is well received among foreign residents for its outstanding medical and nursing staff including proficient services IHS has also won international recognition : SMC was designated as the Primary Medevac Facility of the White House for the 97 Muju Winter Universiad Games (Jan. - Feb. 97), and the official domestic Medevac Facility for the 2002 World Cup Games.

Outpatient service

- Primary medical care services are provided by specialists in internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation(PMR), psychiatry and others.
- The outpatient services are fully backed up by specialists in 28 specialty and subspecialty departments and divisions of the Samsung Medical Center for any consultation and referrals.
- The services are staffed by bilingual medical staffs, and the main and official language of the service is English. - Appointments are conveniently made by telephone or e-mail.
- The outpatient services are equipped with modern facilities and instruments with immediate access to all the ultramodern equipment and services of the Samsung Medical Center.
- 24 hours' emergency medical services are provided by the medical staff in coordination with emergency service of the Samsung Medical Center.

The Severance Hospital International Health Care Center first opened its doors in 1962 and has been expanding its services ever since. The center is staffed by doctors and nurses who are fluent in several languages and ready to serve the medical needs of foreigners in Korea

About Service

The services offered by the International Health Care Center include a wide range of medical services for foreigners in Korea, immunizations and guidance services for those residing in Korea or traveling throughout Asia, and visa physical examinations for those wishing to live or travel outside of Korea. In particular, our center has been authorized by the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines to perform physical examinations related to the issuance of immigrant and student visas and to process documents and prepare immunization certificates related to these visas.

Selective Treatment Policy AMC adopts the Selective Treatment Policy according to clause 2, article 27 of the Medical Treatm ent Law. Selective Treatment is a policy whereby patients can choose to be treated by specific doctors who have worked as specialists for a period longer than 10 years or doctors who are University Hospital assistant professors and above with ample medical treatment experience. To apply for Selective Treatment either fill out one of the Selective Treatment application forms placedat the Reception & Payment counter, or apply by telephone. If a patient receives Selective Treatment they must bear all additional expenses to standard treatment expenses within the scope set out by the Department of Health.
