An international non-profit preschool for children 2 1/2 to 6 years old, which is intended to encourage independence, cooperation and education for life by following a curriculum based on the ideas of Maria Montessori. A Board elected by and from the parents of students directs the school.

Proority for Placement is as follows
1. Returning students;2. Siblings of students already attending the school, if they meet the criteria in 3 or 4;
3. Children with each parent holding either: a foreign passport and Certificate of Alien Registration; diplomatic status; or SOFA status or its equivalent;
4. Children with one parent holding a foreign passport and Certificate of Alien Registration;
5. Children holding a foreign passport, both of whose parents hold Korean passports.
(This last category is aimed at children who may have spent the majority of their lives growing up overseas, been educated in English, but whose parents have not obtained foreign passports.)
Placement is also influenced by other factors, such as
English speaking :classroom management requires a certain ratio of students whoare competent in verbal English. ( the class runs best if a minimum of two thirds of the children function well in English )
Parents's access to other schooling
Flexibility in program choice ( morning or afternoon )
Usage of the bus service
Parent involvement in running the school
Acceptance into ECLC is determined by the Board and is not guaranteed, nor is the timing based solely on the date of your application. Class assignments are done on an annual basis. Students may not change classes mid-year.
At the time of enrollment, photocopies of both the child's and parents's passports and Certificates of Alien Registration must be provided. Documentation of foreign citizenship, which is required at the time of enrollment, must be updated as it expires.
To apply for admission to ECLC
1. A completed application must be submitted to the Head of School.2. Copies of the child and parent's passports and Korean alien registration cards must be submitted.
Be certain to inform the Head of School of any family circumstances that may influence your application.

1. A cheque may be used for the payment of fees at the Administration office at ECLC. Please do not send in cash and please do not send any money in to school in your child's school bag.2. Alternatively, school fees can be paid through a bank transfer, details below. Please send a copy of the bank transfer receipt to the Office with your child's name on it. School receipts will not be issued without a copy of the bank transfer.

No refund will be given to a child transferring to another school on Seoul after January 1st of the school year.
